Report after report has established unintended sudden acceleration in Toyota and Lexus cars. Consumer after consumer has reported Toyota vehicles and Lexus vehicles throttle advancing without accelerator input. Our office has been contacted by one Toyota / Lexus driver after another. So many people have experienced sudden unintended acceleration in Toyotas and Lexus vehicles; one is lead to the inescapable conclusion that this problem is very real and very, very scary.
Toyota's Cover-Up
What has Toyota's response been to these motorists? First, Toyota insisted that there was no problem with their cars and trucks. We have spoken to numerous consumers that took their vehicles into Toyota/ Lexus dealers with terrifying stories. Instead, Toyota would tell these folks that they must have hit the accelerator when they though they were hitting the brake. Toyota systematically told these motorist that their cars were fine. Second, Toyota sensing that no one was actually believing their bogus story then came up with a dog ate my homework excuse: it must have been the improper placement of the floor mat. Even if the owner had removed the mats.
Third, Toyota comes up with another answer: the gas pedals are defective. So Toyota busily started a massive gas pedal recall / retrofit campaign. We have spoken to motorists that still experience unintended sudden acceleration after undergoing the gas pedal recall fix.
It is painfully clear that Toyota has conducted a massive cover-up. Toyota has yet to come clean with the public. Instead, it is one lie after another. One misdirection after another. Only this time, no one is buying Toyota's story. And why should they? Why should the public believe that this time, Toyota is telling the truth? It's easy, they shouldn't.
The Nature of the Defect - Fly by Wire / Drive by Wire
Here is what we do know. All of the Toyota and Lexus models use a fly by wire accelerator system. Meaning that an electronic fuel injection system is used. Instead of a mechanical cable controlling throttle input, now throttle input is controlled via electronic signal. In short, there is a serious glitch in the computer systems on Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
Thus, the computer is sending inappropriate signals to the computer. In essence, telling the computer to apply throttle when the driver is not advancing the throttle.

Description: california-toyota-class-action.com
This California State Class Action case differs from the Federal Class actions being filed across the country in some significant ways.
First, this case concerns a "dimumination in value" of Toyota and Lexus vehicles. That is, your car is worth less due to the Toyota Recalls.
Second, this new Class Action case only concerns only Toyota and Lexus vehicles sold and owned by California residents.
Third, this case does not directly concern the underlying defects.
Fourth, this case is based upon California's very, very strong consumer protection laws.
Description: NHTSA claims their mission is as follows: "Save lives, prevent injuires, reduce vehicle-related crashes.
Frankly, many are sceptical. Many beleive that NHTSA is "in bed" with automobile manufacturers. Nothing we have seen with the Toyota Sudden Unintended Acceleration Defect convinces us otherwise.
Time and again - Scott Yon - the NHTSA employee whom lead the Toyota NHTSA investigation blamed drivers for the defect. Your government tax dollars at work.
