Toyota California Class Action Filed by Bill Turley

A Toyota California Class Action was filed on March 26, 2010 by San Diego Lawyer Bill Turley (along with a team of Super-Lawyers).....

It is the first California Class Action filed in California State Court.

What makes this case different is that it is being brought by  California residents who bought Toyota's and Lexus' in California and relies on California's strong consumer protection laws.  California has very strong consumer protection laws which no other states have.

In addition,  residents of  California are the only  Toyota owners and Lexus owners in the County that have the right to file a lawsuit in State Court. This is because Toyota has it's US headquarters in California. Which allows Californnia residents a huge advantage. California  has better laws. And the State case should be ready for Class Certification much, much sooner that the Federal MDL Litigation.

LOSS OF VALUE

The basis for the complaint is a diminishment in value caused by the recent recalls.  "The entire Toyota brand is tainted,"  points out Toyota California Class Action co-counsel Tracee Lorens.  The drop in value of these vehicles is a quantifiable number - - which are the damages suffered by California Toyota owners and Lexus owners according to the Complaint.  And there appears to be very, very strong evidence which supports these points.
