1. Confident and helpful counsel to help you get the best medical treatment possible.
2. Fight to help you get all the Defense Base Act benefits you are entitled to under the law.
3. A lawyer that will help you get the opportunity to recover from your injuries so that you can get your life back.
4. A seasoned third party work injury analysis to help you maximize your recovery.
Getting the fair compensation you deserve under DBA laws almost always requires the help of an experienced Defense Base Act attorney. Our job is to apply the law to the facts of your case, stop the insurance company from getting away with their shenanigans and fight for you every step of the way to make sure you get every dime you are entitled to under Defense Base Act work injury law.
The most effective time to call us is right at the beginning. Especially if you're filing for Defense Base Act benefits. Not having a lawyer in place before a claim for any type of benefits is denied can weaken your case because tight deadlines often leave too little time to gather the necessary medical exams and records for building a solid case. The best way to avoid this scenario is by contacting us before you think you might need a lawyer, so we can begin to educate you about the steps you'll face ahead.
The last thing you want to do is to start your case while trying to play catch-up with the insurance company. Just like in sports, it is best to be ahead and stay ahead with your case. Don't take the chance that you will be playing catch-up with the insurance company and their lawyers.

When An Injury Changes or Ends Your Career
Defense Base Act claims are complex and often rife with emotion. Your ability to make a living may be jeopardized and your injuries severe enough that you may never be able to return to work you have done before the injury.
At The Turley Law Firm, we attend to every detail and meet every deadline related to your Workers' Compensation claim. The job of our attorneys is to handle all the legal aspects of your claim while you focus on recovery.
If you have suffered a work injury, don't delay in contacting an attorney. Many injured workers think that they can handle DBA insurance matters on their own. For them, it is often an issue of cost. What they do not realize is that an experienced lawyer can advocate for them throughout the entire process to maximize their chances of getting all of the benefits they deserve, not just some of them.

The DBA requires that many federal government contractors and subcontractors provide workers' compensation insurance for their employees who work outside of the United States.
The DBA Falls Under the Longshore Act
Under the provisions of the DBA, overseas federal military and public works contractors are subject to the same workers' compensation rules, including the same insurance requirements and same schedules of benefits for affected workers, as maritime firms covered by the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act (LHWCA).
The DBA provides no-fault coverage and is an exclusive remedy to injured workers. Injured workers and the survivors of workers killed on the job are entitled to benefits for employment-related injuries, illnesses, and deaths regardless of fault and are not permitted to sue their employers or the federal government for any types of damages caused by employment-related incidents. However, DBA employees can bring third party lawsuits against persons and/or entitiels whom are legally entities which are not their employers.
Examples of some of companies we see are Halliburton, Bechtel, Dyncorp, Kellogg, Brown & Root (KBR).
The Defense Base Act provides disability compensation, medical treatment, and vocational rehabilitation to workers injured at work and death benefits to survivors when the worker is killed on the job. You need not be a U.S. citizen or a U.S. resident to obtain these benefits.
