ILWU Lawyer: International Longshore and Warehouse Union Attorney - Harry Bridges an American Hero

“When I seek out professional advice, I don’t want B.S. I want it straight up, with no double talk. I figure you do also. I always use plain English, with no sugarcoating, no B.S. lawyer talk, and no double talk - just old fashioned, unsweetened, unvarnished truth - just the way that I would want it.” - International Longshore and Warehouse Union Attorney - Bill Turley

My Best Advice

When it comes to Longshore Act Cases, nothing is more important than telling the truth. Nothing is more important than your credibility. You need to be up front and honest about every detail about your case.

Do not exaggerate the fine print. If a judge suspects your not being truthful, then they will dismiss your case. Always be honest. Always tell the truth.

 My Second Best Advice

Harry Bridges - An American Hero

There are few true American heros. And fewer heros in the American Labor movement. Harry Bridges is an American hero. Harry was the driving force behind the ILWU. Harry took the ILWU on a journey that the ILWU members are still on today: The strongest labor union in America.

All Longshoreman can thank Harry Bridges for the strong Union they have today.

Many people forget Harry was prosecuted by the United States government during the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. It was only the US Supreme Court which overturned Harry's criminal conviction.

In truth, Harry was guilty. Guilty of standing up to corporations and the US government. Guilty of putting the American worker first. Guilty of being a true American.

Thank you, Harry.
