California TTD - How much will my workers comp check be?

Generally, temporary disability pays two-thirds of the gross (pre-tax) wages you lose while you are recovering from a job injury. However, you cannot receive more than the maximum weekly amount set by law, which is $881.66.

Your wages are figured out by using all forms of income you receive from work: wages, food, lodging, tips, commissions, overtime and bonuses. Wages can also include earnings from work you did at other jobs at the time you were injured.

You will need proof of these earnings. California law allows all forms of income when calculating your temporary disability benefits.

Remember:

Once you have a work injury you are at war with the insurance company. No matter how nice the workers compensation claims adjuster is to you - - at the end of the day, their job is to keep you from getting the medical benefits and money benefits you are entitled to under the law. You should be polite when dealing with the adjuster. However, DO NOT TAKE LEGAL ADVICE FROM THE WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE ADJUSTER! Don't be all gabby with the adjuster. Everything you say to the adjuster can and will be used against you in court.

Always tell the truth.
