Vectrus Systems Corp. and the Defense Base Act

I Didn’t Sign Up For This

"Straight forward answers to your DBA questions. No lawyer double-talk. Ever. Believe it or not I am known as a lawyer that is straight-forward and blunt." - Vectrus Systems Corp. Defense Base Act Lawyer - Bill Turley

Let’s Start at the Top

I suggest you get a free copy of my well acclaimed book - Win Your Defense Base Act Case. More on this later.

If you work for Vectrus Systems Corp. and you were seriously injured or you suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder you probably have a lot of questions about your Defense Base Act claim.

  • How am I going to get medical treatment?
  • What's going to happen if I get stuck having to pay huge medical bills?
  • Am I going to get weekly money compensation benefits while I am not working?
  • How am I going to support my family?
  • Am I going to lose everything I have due to all of this?

My name is Bill Turley and I have the largest DBA law firm on the West Coast and one of the two or three largest DBA law firms in the world. My main office is in San Diego and I represent folks just like you from all across America and the world.

If you or a family member was seriously injured while working as an overseas civilian contractor for Vectrus Systems Corporation you need eye-opening facts of life. I suggest you pull up a chair and hang on.

You aren't going to get fluffy fairy tales. But you are going to hear what you need to hear to weather the storm. Because make no mistake about it - you just entered a legal storm. A S*** storm, if you will.

Vectrus Systems and DBA Claims

According to the U.S. Department of Labor 2015 Summary Report, Vectrus Systems Corporation had 282 Defense Base Act claims from October 2014 to September 2015. Based on my following these type of reports for years, it usually means that there have been many more injuries than are being reported. Why? Because the injuries are being reported by the DBA insurance company. Anyone that believes the reporting by DBA insurance companies is anything near accurate, please raise your hand.

My take is that if you actually raised your hand, you work for one of the DBA insurance companies. Anyone else on the inside knows better.

Of note is that Vectrus Systems wasn’t even on the US Department of Labor Summary for the year before. But that's the way it is. The civilian contractor companies sprout up like weeds. Here we go again. I've been seeing this for years.

The Defense Base Act

The Defense Base Act is the workers’ compensation program for civilian contractors that are injured while working overseas. For example, in Afghanistan, the Middle East and/or Asia. What that means in real world terms is that if you are injured while working overseas for Vectrus Systems Corporation you probably have a Defense Base Act claim.

And if you have been working in Afghanistan or other hostile locations you probably just traded an actual war for a legal war. Seriously. Thinking anything else is only going to cost you money. And lots of it.

Vectrus Systems Corporation Says They Do Three Main Things:

  • Infrastructure Asset Management
  • Information Technology & Network Communication Services
  • Logistics & Supply Chain Management Services

According to Vectrus Systems Corporation they manage, maintain, and repair the equipment stocks that support the US Army’s most important and complex missions domestically and around the world, including remote and hostile locations in the Middle East and Southwest Asia.

“The equipment stocks we maintain and repair number in the thousands, and are as diverse as fork lifts, night vision goggles, weapons, and combat vehicles. In some cases, our Infrastructure Asset Management and Information Technology & Network Communication service lines provide support to our logistics efforts.”

In military terms - logistics is the organization of moving, housing, and supplying troops and equipment.

In business terms, logistics is the commercial activity of transporting goods to customers. Here, the customer is the United States military.

Which brings you and your claim under the DBA.

What This All Really Means

None of the foregoing means squat now. Now you have a new reality: getting the medical treatment and compensation benefits that you deserve. If you are already getting DBA benefits, that's good. Your job is to start getting ready now for the day that you stop getting DBA benefits.

If you aren’t getting DBA benefits or if you are getting benefits - your job is to gather the evidence needed to win your DBA claim. That means you are fighting an unfamiliar fight. Against an army of insurance adjusters and their shark lawyers. They are professionals. Make no mistake about it.

“What Should I Do?”

First, don’t talk to the insurance company or nurse case managers. They are going to use everything that you say against you. Bank on it. I know I do.

Many folks say, “I have a legitimate claim. I’m good. It’s okay if I talk to the adjuster.” Not the case.

Second, don’t sign anything. Releases, statements, anything.

Third, don’t rush out an hire a Defense Base Act lawyer until you have done the necessary research. While it's not hard to change lawyers, you don't want to be playing catch-up. Don't believe what you read or hear from fluffy website. Do your homework. Kick the tires.

Fourth, order my free book right now. Win Your Defense Base Act Case is a must read.

It is a one stop way to make sure you don’t tank your case before you even pass go.

Not Sure If You Want to Follow Any of This Advice?

I suggest that you go to Amazon.com and check out all of the 5 Star Reviews that my book has received from folks like yourself, who wanted to learn about their case.

If you want to spend $16 plus shipping to buy my book on Amazon.com, that’s fine. But if you want to get it free, then you can order it on this website here and I will even pay the shipping.

You might be thinking, “Okay, what’s the catch?” That’s simple. There is no catch.

I want you to not get screwed by the DBA insurance company. And when you do end up calling me, I don’t want to have to reject your case because you have lost it because you made one of the mistakes that I tell you about in my book. Or I don’t want you to have to wait years to get benefits because you made a mistake that could have and should have been easily avoided.

Last Bit of Advice and Telling the Truth

The fifth thing is all about you. When you bring a court case - nothing is ore important than your credibility. Nothing else is even close. Always tell the truth. Always.
