The Defense Base Act

The Defense Base Act is an extension of the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act. It is a federal program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Workers' Compensation Programs (OWCP). It is a federal workers' compensation program for civilian employees of government contractors working overseas as part of the defense effort.
