Dave Mara grew up in Millersville, Maryland, and moved to Rancho Cucamonga, California, when he was fifteen years old. Dave knew that he wanted a challenging career that would help people, but he didn’t know what he wanted to do. He was working at Kinko’s and thinking about what to do with his life when he saw a lawyer’s business card and realized that was his calling. Dave went back to school and never looked back. He graduated from San Diego State University and then attended California Western School of Law.
Dave prides himself on his ability to understand complex legal concepts and to use those concepts to make the law work for his clients. As a true “student of the law,” Dave is able to boil down complex factual scenarios and circumstances and simplify them so judges and juries can easily grasp them. He brings uncommon insight into legal and factual analysis.
Dave is known for his upbeat style, confidence, and great “bedside” manner. He is able to put clients, juries, and judges at ease. He recently worked on a class action lawsuit filed on behalf of employees of hourly workers of the Brinker Restaurant Corporation. The case clarified the obligation that California employers have to provide rest and meal breaks to their employees.
Dave is married and has a teenage son. His family enjoys competitive barbecuing.
