This is my story
My Dad was a career Naval Officer. I grew up on the water. My maritime experience started while sitting on his Dad’s lap, driving my Dad’s boats. My first job was working on a crab boat. I went to law school to become a maritime lawyer. I started practicing Maritime Injury Law in San Diego in 1987. From the beginning I was representing seriously injured workers and seaman from the shipyards and waterfront of San Diego.
Maritime Injuries
Today, I represent seriously injured Seaman, passengers, Longshore and Defense Base Act workers (the DBA falls under the Longshore Act and is considered part of Maritime Injury Law) that are injured around the world. I have offices in San Diego, Oakland, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Work Injuries
For my entire career I have been representing seriously injured workers and their families in all types of serious injury, catastrophic injury and death cases. I handle all types personal injury cases from maritime to work-place injuries to product liability cases. For example, all of my Longshore clients and shipyard clients also file State of California Workers’ Compensation cases. As you can imagine, my guys and gals get injured on vessels, on the water front, in automobile accidents, slip and fall accidents, work accidents, and in Defense Base Act incidents across the world.
Wage and Hour Class Actions
My firm and I also handle wage and hour class action cases. Today, I represent over 100,000 workers in California wage and hour class action cases. It was a natural fit, because I have been handling cases involving the California Labor Code since 1987. My firm represents injured workers.
